1.) Perform what's expected...and a little bit more. There has never been a traffic jam on the "Extra Mile". Work the entire time you are supposed to be working. One Dollars wage for at least worth of work. If you are supposed to start work at 8am and you're still getting your coffee and checking personal emails you are stealing your company's time. That's not what you are compensated for. And by the way, you don't get compensated for showing up, you get compensated for results. Proverbs 12:24 says "The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute." If you work hard you will get promoted (maybe even given a Plaque). 2.) Be reliable, dependable, stable, responsible, honorable, respectable, veritable, credible and all the other "able's" and "ible's". Get used to walking on egg shells if there is any question your manager can't depend you. DO NOT be a mouse that plays when the cat is away. Verbally let your superiors know they can count on you... and then make absolute sure they can. 3.) Give feedback. Look for ways you can save your business money. Locate opportunities to be more beneficial and more proficient. Uncover ways to improve the bottlenecks at your company. Always be forward thinking. 4.) Positive Mental Attitude. As stale as it may sound, positivity will usually get points from your boss. A optimistic mental attitude can - and definitely does - transform actuality by allowing a an individual to act in an totally different way, thus harvesting totally different results. 5.) Make your supervisor come across good! Position him or her up for victory. It can be as minimal as standing up for your boss to another member of staff, or reminding them of a significant business meeting. Look for ways to bless your manager on a weekly if not daily basis.
